What is the "Hit the Books" Summer Reading Program all about? The Vermont Lake Monsters believe reading is essential for children all year long. Therefore, the Vermont Lake Monsters are teaming up with Price Chopper to reward kids for reading in the summertime. This program is designed to maintain children's reading skills throughout the summer. Any student who reads 4 books between June 1 and August 1 will be given a FREE child's general admission ticket to a 2010 Vermont Lake Monsters regular season home game.
Here's How to Qualify:
Any student in grades K-8 may submit one entry
Read 4 books from June 1 - August 1
Complete the reading log and mail it back with a self-addressed stamped envelope by August 1st. Reading logs are available on the counter in the MEMS main office. No late arrivals (after August 1st) or entires without a self-addressed stamped envelope will be eligible. Reading logs and SASE should be mailed to: Vermont Lake Monsters; Attn: Reading; 1 King Street Ferry Dock; Burlington, VT 05401.
Upon receipt of your reading log and self-addressed stamped envelope, the Lake Monsters will mail you back a FREE 2010 Lake Monsters ticket voucher! Then just come enjoy the family fun atmosphere of a Lake Monsters home game!!!
All participating students wil have the opportunity to be a part of the "Hit the Books" celebration on Sunday, August 22 at Centennial Field. All kids wishing to participate in this celebration must arrive by 11:45 a.m. in order to join the pre-game parade, and be a part of the group photograph with Champ and members of the Lake Monsters!
